Brown changed color galvanic dial with applied luminous hour markers, outer gilt chapter ring minutes track, luminous mercedes hands, sweep centre seconds, magnified date display.

Waterproof stainless steel 3 pieces case, riveted bracelet, revolving bezel, Twin Lock crown, signed screw back, faded bi-color aluminium inlay.

HISTORY IN BRIEF

The Rolex 1675 is the successor of the first Gmt Master reference ever produced, the 6542.

The lowest reference 1675 serial numbers known to date are those dating back between 59 and 60.

One of the most important characteristics of these early GMTs is indeed having casebacks engraved with date 59 or 60.

Other important features are the presence of the butterfly rotor 1560 caliber,  pointed crown guard case and chapter ring dials which in some rare case still have the Officially Certified Chronometer writing, more typical of reference 6542.

Those first series Gmt Master are extremely rare and sought after by collectors.

OUR WATCH

The present Rolex Gmt Master is an excellent first series example coming with a very early 505,xxx case serial number.

Already being an exclusive timepiece for its early serial number, the rarity of the present watch is further enhanced by an exceptional glossy tropical gilt dial.

The beauty of the dial is difficult to describe in words.

It is one of those watches that when viewed live simply leaves speechless.

The galvanic surface has aged uniformly over the years, creating fascinating brown and orange shades that extends throughout the whole chapter ring dial.

The pointed crown guards case has most likely been lightly polished trough the years, but it still maintain its original and peculiar shape with sharp edges and chamfers.

All the components are correct and original for the year of manufacture : Gilt chapter ring dial, hand set, crown, I.60 caseback, 1560 caliber with butterfly rotor.

In all over matching conditions and coming with a most likely unique tropical dial the present early 1675 specimen would be an excellent addiction to any serious Vintage Rolex collection.
